U.S. News & World Report Names The Heritage at Brentwood a 2022-23 Best Senior Living Community
The Heritage at Brentwood has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a 2022-23 Best Senior Living Community for independent living. The company released its 2022 national rankings on Tuesday, May 10. It is one of only five independent living communities designated “Best” in Tennessee and the only continuing care residential care community with the highest ranking.
U.S. News awards the designation of Best Senior Living only to those communities that satisfy its objective statistical assessment of each senior living community’s performance from consumer satisfaction surveys administered between March 2021 and February 2022. These surveys reflect the viewpoints of more than 200,000 current residents and family members of residents living in thousands of senior living communities nationwide.
The Heritage at Brentwood, celebrating its 15th anniversary this month, offers more than 20 floorplans among its apartment, villa and garden villa homes for active adults ages 62 and older. Jon Tagatz has been the community’s executive director since construction began on its 48-acre campus.

A Type A Life Care Community, residents pay an 80- to 90-percent refundable entrance fee and a monthly fee determined by the size of their home. In return, they have the assurance of on-campus short- or long-term skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care and rehabilitative services with only a slight increase in their monthly fee should they ever need it.
The Heritage’s on-campus Somerfield Health Center was recognized as a Best Nursing Home by U.S. News in 2021.
