Positive attitude, great initiative describe July Employee of the Month
Muktar Mohamed is a full-time server who will be celebrating seven years of employment with The Heritage at Brentwood in September 2021. When asked about his seniority and reason for his long-term employment, he smiles before replying that he has a soft spot for the residents because they represent a plethora of grandparents that he doesn’t have.
When not working at The Heritage, Muktar tries to spend quality time outdoors enjoying nature with his family. His wife, Amina, is an agency Certified Nurse Aide who sets her own schedule. He has two daughters – Aziza, 5, and Layla, 2. Their favorite family activities include going to the park and the Nashville Zoo, playing and eating pizza at Chuck E Cheese, and having a dinner surrounded by fish at the Aquarium Restaurant at Opry Mills.
Muktar and his immediate family moved to the U.S. from Kenya in 2005 and in 2010, settled in Nashville where he graduated from high school. He has been working on plans to visit Kenya with his family.
Muktar’s positive attitude and smile, sense of humor and initiative contributed to his being named July’s Employee of the Month. His supervisor, Restaurant Operations Manager Fitzroy Charles noted Muktar’s attire, attendance, attitude, productivity, versatility, flexibility, communication skills and initiative. “He is a great asset to the department and trains new team members. He also does a great job communicating with the residents and the team and takes initiative to find and complete tasks without being told,” Charles added.
We are thankful and grateful for the hard work and dedication that he demonstrates daily for the residents and his team.
