A true Nashville treasure, Shawn Knight has spent his career celebrating the power of storytelling through performance and education. As Director of the BFA in Performance at Belmont University, he’s created and performed ten original one-man shows honoring legendary American composers, bringing their stories to audiences with warmth and authenticity.

Irving Berlin: An American Creation brings to life the music, stories, successes, and failures of the most successful songwriter of the 20th century. After seeing his Russian home burned down by enemies of the Jews, Irving Berlin and his family began a grueling journey to America, where he went on to compose “God Bless America,” “White Christmas,” and many of his other greatest creations.
