As 2017 comes to a close, the residents and staff at The Heritage at Brentwood are thankful for the many fortunes that were experienced this year. A close-knit community located in Brentwood, Tennessee, The Heritage at Brentwood’s relentless attention to detail regarding health and well-being are among residents’ favorite attributes. This year also brought the celebration of important milestones and the continuation of beloved programs and activities.
The Much Anticipated Final Phase
The groundbreaking event held at The Heritage to kick off the community’s expansion was an exciting occasion for residents and staff alike. Residents and local dignitaries attended the groundbreaking and some of the residents in the community, such as the resident who has lived here the longest, were honored.
“We have been working so diligently and having such great success with future occupancy at the 97-unit apartment building, called Redbud, that we were able to break ground in October for our final phase. 70 percent of Redbud is already pre-sold, and [in addition to Redbud] five other buildings are going up simultaneously on campus!” says Judy Good, Marketing Director at The Heritage at Brentwood.
New Spaces Will Enhance Daily Life
In addition to Redbud, a Healthy Life Center is being built. It will have an indoor pool, an additional fitness classroom, as well as a larger fitness area. The day spa that offers massages and other health services will be expanded, and the medical clinic that already operates in the community will get its own building. Also under construction: a state of the art 11-room assisted living building.
A 350-seat auditorium will serve the community by hosting speakers, concerts and resident activities. For example, nearly 90 percent of residents participate in at least one exercise program on campus, which can lead to very crowded classes. The auditorium will give residents more elbowroom in their classes, even if there are more than three hundred people in attendance!
“It is so cool to see a huge truck out there in the back, digging away, setting the stage for the future of The Heritage at Brentwood,” says Judy. “It’s just amazing. It required a long-term perspective and it just turned out great.”
A Collaborative Community Shares Expertise
In 2017 The Heritage at Brentwood began offering educational seminars about the types of care options available to seniors, and that program will expand to include workshops at local churches in 2018.
What began as a regular, on-campus workshop is now hitting the road thanks to the idea of residents, Mr. and Mrs. White.
“The Whites came to us with the idea and we said, ‘Yes, we’ll do that and we’ll also bring lunch!’” says Judy. “Our chef prepared a very nice lunch for the group and we did a presentation sharing our senior living expertise with attendees.”
The Heritage at Brentwood is a place with so much to do, places to go and people to meet; it’s what senior living should really be all about. As residents reminisce about the memorable experiences, connections and friendships of 2017 and monitor the exciting building progress, the associates at The Heritage have been planning an extraordinary year to come.
